The plans for the new building include creating virtual museum projects

MOSCOW, April 17. /TASS/. The new building hosting collections of the Moscow Kremlin Museums should be completed by 2021, Museums’ Director Yelena Gagarina told TASS.

"We hope that by 2021 the building will have already been handed over and we will start testing and adjusting the MEP systems, setting up display cases and so on. But transporting cases with a new configurations, new light to a whole new building is a very difficult process," she said.

According to the Museums’ Director, the plans for the new building include creating virtual museum projects, "therefore, the challenge is enormous."

"There are museums which have similar experience, but almost no museum in the world had to basically move to a new building with all its art objects. If there were some restorations, it was for the old building. If something entirely new was built, it wasn’t created for the whole museum, but rather for specific collections. In our case, we need to move all the objects, collections and people who work in the museum to the building and then renovate the Kremlin buildings," Gagarina pointed out.
