US, UK, Germany to screen Russian-made Saving Leningrad film

The film premiered in Russia on January 27, timed to the 75th anniversary of the lifting of the Siege of Leningrad

MOSCOW, March 29. /TASS/. Russian-made military drama "Saving Leningrad" directed by Alexey Kozlov has sold screening rights to Germany, Korea, the US, Canada, the UK, the Czech Republic, Slovakia and the United Arab Emirates (UAE), the Roskino press service informed on Friday.

"The Saving Leningrad film has been sold screening rights on the territory of Germany, South Korea, the US, Canada, the UK, the Czech Republic, Slovakia and the UAE," the press service cites a representative of the All Media company Zhanna Shakhshayeva. She added that currently, there are talks on selling the film’s screening rights on the territory of China, India and several other countries.

The film is based on real events, telling a story about the tragedy of the barge sunk on the Road of Life, a dangerous evacuation route from the sieged city of Leningrad via Lake Ladoga.

The film premiered in Russia on January 27, timed to the 75th anniversary of the lifting of the Siege of Leningrad.
