‘Missing’ England football fan found ‘heavily drunk’ in Moscow hotel — source

MOSCOW, July 12. /TASS/. Douglas Moreton, the British football fan who had arrived in Russia for the 2018 FIFA World Cup but later was reported missing by his relatives, had been found heavily drunk in a Moscow hotel, a source with the law enforcement agencies told TASS on Thursday.
"Now, he is staying at one of Moscow’s hotel in the condition of alcohol intoxication," the source said.
Earlier in the day, the Russian capital’s police told TASS that the man’s whereabouts had been located. No offences had been committed against him. The British Embassy was informed about his whereabouts, the police said.
Reuters said that the man had arrived in Moscow for the FIFA World Cup and then left for Samara where England played Sweden on July 7. After returning to Moscow, Moreton did not get in contact with his relatives.
The Moscow police launched a search operation to locate the Briton. Moreton was said to have left Samara for Moscow by train on July 10. He arrived at Moscow’s Kazansky train station on July 11, according to CCTV cameras.
