MOSCOW, June 28. /TASS/. Australian rocker Nick Cave and his band The Bad Seeds will perform in St. Petersburg on July 25 and in Moscow on July 27 as part of their current world tour.

In an interview with a TASS correspondent ahead of the Russian concerts, Nick Cave called the band’s new show the “most personal” and “most transformative on the planet.”

“We are doing songs from all over the place: old ones, new ones and everything in between. It’s a different show than the Skeleton Tree tour (Skeleton Tree – the band’s most recent album released in 2016 - TASS). It is the greatest, most personal, most intense, most celebratory, and most transformative show on the planet,” Cave proclaimed.

The musician praised his bandmates as “an incredibly versatile and subtle band.”

“I am very happy when I am performing with The Bad Seeds. They can literally do anything,” he said and also described himself and the band as “children.”

“We are children! Ancient children who love powerful, visceral rock ‘n’ roll.”

Cave noted that he and his band have “a sort of deep affinity with the Russian audience.”

“We are very excited to be coming back to Russia. They like it dark! And they like it wild!”

The rocker also said that Russian designer Gosha Rubchinsky is accompanying his band on this tour as a photographer.

“He is travelling around with us on the tour and taking pictures. Gosha is a great photographer,” Cave emphasized.

When asked what Russian musicians and bands he knows, Cave said:

“We are all big fans of Utro [post-punk band from Rostov-on-Don – TASS], Dark and Evil and Messer Chups from St. Petersburg.”

The Australian rocker also praised the work of well-known Russian filmmaker Andrei Zvyagintsev and said that he would like to compose a soundtrack to one of his movies.

“I want to make music for the dark classics of Andrei Zvyaginstev. Warren (Ellis, multi-instrumentalist, member of The Bad Seeds – TASS) and I are still waiting for a phone call. Loveless and Leviathon are extraordinary films,” Cave asserted.

Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds was founded in Melbourne in 1983. Initially, the band was called Man Or Myth. Their albums had a post-punk sound, but by the late 1980s, the musicians began to experiment with various styles, using elements of noise rock, gothic rock, new-wave and even blues in their songs. To date, the band has recorded 16 studio albums.
