Putin sets task to increase life expectancy in Russia to 80 years

Life expectancy must be increased to 74 years by 2024 and to 80 years by 2030

MOSCOW, May 7. /TASS/. Russian President Vladimir Putin has set a task for the Russian government to ensure sustainable population growth and increase in life expectancy.

"The Russian government must ensure the achievement of the following national development goals for a period up to 2024: to ensure sustainable population growth; to increase life expectancy to 74 years (and to 80 years by 2030)," the president said in a decree on the national goals and strategic targets of Russian’s development for a period till the year 2024. The document was posted on the Kremlin website on Monday.
