Russian researchers invent nano powders for making new aluminum alloys
Main consumers of the developed technology are metals and machine-building companies specializing in production of cast items from aluminum alloys
KRASNOYARSK, March 10. /TASS/. Russian researchers developed special nano powders for addition to aluminum alloys, which make possible to make new aluminum-based products with improved characteristics, head of laboratories in Siberian Federal University (SFU) Igor Karpov told TASS on Friday.
"This is our unique development of researchers from the SFU and the Krasnoyarsk Research Center of the Russian Academy of Sciences’ Siberian Department. The aluminum processing technology with use of special nano powders created by us unveils new opportunities to produce composite materials with improved properties, that is, with higher strength, rigidity of flexibility," Karpov said.
Main consumers of the developed technology are metals and machine-building companies specializing in production of cast items from aluminum alloys, the researcher added.
