MOSCOW, December 19. /TASS/. Russian space technologies may be used in 18 foreign space launches next year, a source in the industry has told TASS.
"Next year there will be two launches of Soyuz-ST missiles from the Guiana Space Center, up to 11 launches of US rockets Atlas-5 (Russia’s RD-180 engine is the rocket’s first stage), two launches of the US rockets Antares equipped with Russia’s RD-181 engines, and three launches of Europe’s Vega rockets (its fourth stage engines have titanium propellant tanks of Russian manufacture), the source said.
As he looked back on 2016, the source recalled that this year Russia had participated in 13 foreign launches - eight Atlas-5 rockets, one Antares rocket, two Soyuz-ST rockets and two Vegas.
