New research center to be set up at St. Petersburg Polytechnic University
MOSCOW, November 29. /TASS/. A trilateral agreement on the establishment a new Center for Competences ‘Altair - CML - Polytech’ at the Peter the Great Saint Petersburg Polytechnic University (SPbPU) will be sealed on December 1 between the university, CompMechLab company group, and Altair Engineering company, the press service of SPbPU said.
"The Altair’s unique capabilities in the area of computer engineering, optimization, and adaptive technologies (3D-plotting), which will be applied across-the-board by the new center’s employees, will provide a solid foundation for Russian industry to create globally marketable production," said the university’s vice rector, Alexey Borovkov.
The center will mainly deal with educational programs in the field of 3D-printing. On December 2, Russia’s first Altair Technology Conference (ATCx) will be held in the building of the Research and Development Complex of SPbPU. During the conference, many exciting contributions are planned, including those by developers who will be shedding light on cutting-edge solutions in creating complex effective frameworks based on principles of bionic design and in pre-processing models for 3D-printing. In addition, representatives from largest Russian industrial giants, such as aircraft-and rocket-production, energetics, automobile and turbomachine construction will take the podium.
CompMechLab is a subsidiary of the Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University which deals with computer engineering. The Altair Engineering, Inc. (USA) develops systems for computer engineering and software platform for multidisciplinary analysis - Altair Hyper Works.
