SOCHI, May 13. /TASS/. Russia has spent a total of 84 billion rubles ($1.3 billion) on the construction of the Vostochny cosmodrome in the Far East, Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Rogozin said on Friday.
"We have now spent 84 billion rubles on the Vostochny spaceport and I’m speaking specially about this so that there are no speculations and so that these speculations can be stopped and terminated," Rogozin said.
According to the vice-premier, unique facilities of the world’s most unique cosmodrome were built with such a small sum of money in the region where there was only taiga four years ago.
The cost of the spaceport construction is several times lower than the cost of similar projects in the world, the Russian vice-premier said.
