Russia’s Angara heavy carrier rocket to orbit 2 missile warning satellites — source
The second Angara-class heavy carrier rocket is scheduled to blast off from the Plesetsk spaceport in north Russia in December
MOSCOW, May 13. /TASS/. The second Angara-class heavy carrier rocket is scheduled to blast off from the Plesetsk spaceport in north Russia in December, a source in the space rocket industry told TASS on Friday.
The Angara rocket will orbit at least two new-generation satellites for Russia’s space-based echelon of the missile attack early warning system, the source said.
"The plans of the launch have been adjusted again. An instruction has been received to carry out the launch until the end of the year, in December at the latest," the source said.
The Angara heavy carrier rocket is designed to orbit at least two new-generation satellites of the missile attack early warning system, according to the source.
"There are plans to orbit at least two, possibly three new-generation satellites for the space-based echelon of the missile attack early warning system. They exceed their predecessors’ technical capabilities by many times, including the term of their operation in orbit," the source said.
