Acting director general of the Russian Science Foundation Yury Kazakov noted that the center would operate through trilateral cooperation

KRASNOYARSK, November 5. /TASS/. A project for the establishment of a national satellite construction center is planned to be launched in the Krasnoyarsk Region starting 2027, Yury Kazakov, acting director general of the Russian Science Foundation, said at the Gorizonty (Horizons) forum on scientific and technological development.

"We plan to launch a project to create such a center starting in 2027," Kazakov said. According to him, this initiative has been supported by Russian First Deputy Prime Minister Denis Manturov.

Kazakov noted that the center will operate through trilateral cooperation. "Roscosmos will act as a fully-fledged, qualified client. For its part, the Foundation will utilize all its powers and special legal status, which allows it to conduct a multi-stage, high-quality expert review. The region will serve as the entity that determines priority areas," Kazakov said.

Previously, a concept for establishing such a center was developed at the direction of Krasnoyarsk Region Governor Mikhail Kotyukov. It should be focused on addressing the full range of tasks - from spacecraft development to the implementation of cutting-edge technologies as part of the Space national project.

Reshetnev JSC, a leading Russian company specializing in the development and manufacture of various satellites (for communications, television broadcasting, relay, navigation, geodesy, and scientific and applied purposes), operates in the Krasnoyarsk Region.

On November 5-6, 2026, Krasnoyarsk is hosting the Horizons all-Russian forum on scientific and technological development.
