Vladimir Ivanov emphasized that such a single scientific and technological space will not require the investment of additional financial resources

MOSCOW, December 3. /TASS/. Security of the BRICS countries in the new world order will require unifying their scientific potential, Deputy President of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Corresponding Member of the Russian Academy of Sciences Vladimir Ivanov believes.

Ivanov said that in the world of new technological globalization, the leading positions will be occupied by the states that are able to ensure a high quality of life for their people, as well as their own defense and security. In order to do this, countries will need to have a powerful technological complex and conduct their own basic research, which is usually expensive, he added.

"If we are talking about BRICS, then, in my opinion, one of the tasks that needs to be solved is to create a single scientific and technological space. Not a space in the physical sense, but in a general sense, which will allow us to develop together," he noted.

Ivanov emphasized that such a single scientific and technological space will not require the investment of additional financial resources. "We must assume that the union of scientists, especially in basic research, is precisely the starting point that will allow the further development of the security of those countries that will join this community," he added.
