Wild giant panda population reaches 1,900, US agency says

BEIJING, November 27. /TASS/. The number of wild giant pandas has climbed to nearly 1,900, while the global captive population of giant pandas has increased to 757, Zhang Yue, an official with the National Forestry and Grassland Administration, told the Global Times.
A total of 67 giant panda reserves have been established in China, Zhang Yue said. Beijing is also cooperating with 26 zoos in 20 countries where bamboo bears are kept. In 2021, the Giant Panda National Park was established in the People's Republic of China, launching a program aimed at adapting these animals to life in their natural habitat.

The discussions are attended by over 380 participants from more than 30 countries and regions, including representatives from government agencies, experts, and members of the general public. The event is organized by Xinhua News Agency, the China Wildlife Conservation Association (CWCA), and the Chengdu Media Group.
