Cooperation between the company and the university, according to engineers and scientists, will allow Togliatti State University to develop new educational programs to ensure seamless transition of students into the profession

TASS, August 13. A training center created by ASCON, a developer of engineering IT solutions, will be opened at the Togliatti State University's (TSU) Hybridtech advanced engineering school (AES) of hybrid technologies, the university's press service reported. The agreement on the opening of the joint training center was signed at the Army-2024 International Military-Technical Forum.

"An authorized training center of ASCON, a company developing BIM solutions, will be opened at the Hybridtechadvanced engineering school of hybrid technologies (AES Hybridtech) of Togliatti State University," the press service said.

ASCON is an engineering software developer and IT integrator whose Togliatti office is 90% staffed by TSU graduates. The company ranks among the 100 largest IT companies in Russia, creates industry-specific digital platforms and solutions for engineering and construction, implements IT systems on the scale of enterprises and corporations.

For students, postgraduates and schoolchildren

According to engineers and scientists, cooperation between the company and the university will allow TSU to develop new educational programs to ensure a seamless transition of students into the profession and accelerate the implementation of engineering projects in the interests of industrial partners. The software transferred to the university as part of the agreement will also enable it to train undergraduate, specialist and master's degree students, as well as graduate students and schoolchildren in additional educational programs.

The university plans to integrate its digital platform for student project management, called Projectiva, with ASCON's Lotsman:PLM software product to ensure a seamless transition from student project initiatives to the design and technological development phase of projects.

According to Alexander Selivanov, the head of the engineering school, the ASCON software will allow specialists of different profiles (designers, technologists, system integrators, and suppliers) to see each other's areas of responsibility in real time and to quickly interact with each other at all stages of the product life cycle. Students trained in this new way will be able to join companies immediately after graduation, as they will be familiar with the latest technologies.

"The opening of an authorized ASCON training center at TSU will improve teachers' skills in three-dimensional design and product lifecycle management, stimulate students' scientific and technical creativity, as well as help in career guidance and attracting talented applicants," said TSU Rector Mikhail Krishtal.
