Retrograde Mercury has no influence on everyday life — astronomer
In 2024, Retrograde Mercury starts on April 1 and will last until April 25
MOSCOW, April 1. /TASS/. Retrograde Mercury is an astronomical phenomenon that has no impact on the planet, nor on people's health or their fate in life, Dmitry Bisikalo, director of the Astronomy Institute at the Russian Academy of Science (RAS), told TASS.
"Retrograde Mercury is an astronomical phenomenon that occurs when the planet Mercury appears to move backward in its orbital path relative to Earth. This is an optical illusion caused by differences in the orbital speeds of Earth and Mercury. Scientifically speaking, Mercury does not change the direction of its movement; it continues to orbit the Sun as usual. Thus, the retrograde motion of Mercury is nothing more than a perception from Earth, with no physical impact on our planet or its inhabitants," he said.
According to Academician Bisikalo, there is no scientific evidence that retrograde Mercury has any influence on communication, technology or interpersonal relationships.
"In astronomy and physics, there is no evidence that the position of Mercury in space can have a direct impact on people's daily lives. The interaction between the planets of the Solar System and Earth is based on gravitational forces that are too weak at such distances to have a noticeable influence on individual human actions or decisions," the scientist explained.
