Roscosmos values continuation of contacts with foreign partners — CEO
Yury Borisov pointed out that the Russian rocket and space industry can carry out projects in almost all areas of space exploration
MOSCOW, November 30. /TASS/. Russian and Western cosmonautics are currently connected only by the International Space Station (ISS) project, but contacts in this field are critical for the continuation and preservation of the manned space program, Roscosmos CEO General Yury Borisov told TASS.
"If we’re talking about Western countries, then we have only the International Space Station project that really connects us with our colleagues, and we value the continuation of these contacts in every possible way," Borisov said.
Nevertheless, the Roscosmos chief executive pointed out that the Russian rocket and space industry can carry out projects in almost all areas of space exploration. "The Russian space industry has competencies in virtually all areas of space development," he said. For example, Roscosmos can produce both individual satellites and entire constellations, provide launch services, organize manned programs, and combat space debris together with foreign partners.
Borisov stressed that Roscosmos' proposals are finding a positive response across all BRICS countries, as well as from Algeria, Egypt and Venezuela. "There are many countries that want to cooperate with us," the head of Russia’s state space corporation concluded.
