MOSCOW, November 13. /TASS/. Flight tests of a high-resolution radar satellite are being completed, the deputy director of the department of automatic space complexes, navigation and remote sensing systems of Roscosmos, Valery Zaichko has said.

"The Kondor - a radar satellite - is already flight. Today flight tests are being completed. Starting from January 1, 2024 we will provide radar data to all consumers," he told a conference entitled Current Problems in Remote Sensing of the Earth from Space at the Space Research Institute of the Russian Academy of Sciences.

Zaichko added that the launch of a second Kondor-FKA as well as of the Obzor-R satellite was scheduled for next year.

The Kondor-FKA No. 1 high-resolution radar satellite was launched on May 27. According to its manufacturer, the NPOmash, the next satellite is to be put in space in June 2024. The satellites making up the cluster will be able to receive detailed images with a resolution of up to 1 meter in any weather round the clock and to scan a strip of the Earth's surface up to 120 kilometers wide.

The NPOmash is also developing on the Kondor-FKA-M mineral prospecting satellite. Its characteristics and launch date will be specified based on the results achieved by the two Kondor-FKA satellites.
