Putin sees space exploration as risky but interesting work
"It is certainly difficult and diverse but it comes with many risks not only for cosmonauts but also for those engaged in space exploration," Putin noted
KOROLYOV, October 26. /TASS/. All professions related to space exploration are interesting and popular but risky, Russian President Vladimir Putin said.
Late on Thursday, the head of state held a meeting with young scientists and space industry specialists, answering their questions for about an hour and a half. The president eventually wished them every success "in this highly interesting work."
"It is certainly difficult and diverse but it comes with many risks not only for cosmonauts but also for those engaged in space exploration," Putin noted. He explained that he was talking about technical risks, and mentioned the failure of Russia’s Luna-25 lunar lander mission.
"However, it is interesting. It is interesting and very popular," the president said.
Putin stressed that the country's technological development depended to a large extent on the achievements of young specialists, "and it is crucial for Russia’s future.".
