MOSCOW, February 13. /TASS/. Roscosmos is considering all possible factors that may be to blame for the depressurization of the Progress MS-21 spacecraft’s thermal control system, as there is no chance for now to examine the place where the leak occurred, the space corporation’s CEO Yury Borisov told the media on Monday.
"We are now taking measures that may let us photograph the place where the spacecraft’s skin was apparently damaged. If there are traces of damage, then it can be assumed that there had been an external impact - collision with a meteorite or some kind of space debris. For now, the lack of information makes us consider all possible versions," Borisov said.
He added that Roscosmos was in the process of checking the entire technological process of creating the spacecraft and, in particular, its thermal control system once again.
On February 11, the coolant loop of Progress MS-21, already prepared for undocking from the ISS, developed a leak. The supply spacecraft, which is to complete its flight as part of the ISS on February 18, was depressurized.
At the moment, the ship is isolated from the ISS. The reasons for the depressurization are being investigated.
