Numerous foreign researchers elected to Russia’s Academy of Sciences
They work in fields that include physics, astronomy, micro and nanotechnologies, information technologies, biochemistry, Earth sciences, economics, philosophy and law among others
MOSCOW, June 2. /TASS/. Nearly 50 foreign researchers have been elected to Russia’s Academy of Sciences, according to the election results announced on Thursday.
A total of 48 researchers from the US, China, Belarus, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Poland, Italy, Spain, Armenia, Singapore, Mongolia, Australia, India, Azerbaijan, Abkhazia, Germany, Serbia, the United Kingdom, Kyrgyzstan, Austria, France, Kazakhstan, Switzerland and Canada have become the Russian Academy of Sciences’ new foreign members.
The new academy members work in fields that include physics, astronomy, micro and nanotechnologies, nanodiagnostics, information technologies, material science, physical chemistry, bioorganic chemistry, chemical physics, genetics, biochemistry, Earth sciences, economics, philosophy and law among others.
The election of new members to the Russian Academy of Sciences took place on June 1. Over 90 academy member vacancies and more than 200 corresponding member vacancies were up for grabs.
