Obzor-R satellite to be launched in Q2 2023 — manufacturer

MOSCOW, May 29. /TASS/. The Obzor-R radar satellite can be launched in the second quarter of the next year, press service of Progress Rocket and Space Center told TASS on Sunday.
"The satellite launched is scheduled to the second quarter of 2023," the press service said.
The radar for the spacecraft is expected to be supplied in the second quarter of this year, the Center noted.
The Obzor-R is the radar satellite intended for surveys in the X-band in any time of the day, irrespective of weather conditions. Satellite data will be used for mapping, monitoring of environmental and man-caused emergencies, detection of potentially hazardous geological processes, objects and phenomena in construction regions, support of environment management tasks and searching for mineral resources.
