Zhang Hanhui stressed that both countries had achieved impressive results in the space sphere
MOSCOW, May 5. /TASS/. Russia-China cooperation in space will certainly benefit not just the people of the two countries, but the whole of humanity, China’s ambassador to Russia, Zhang Hanhui, told TASS in an interview.
"Space cooperation has become an important track of relations of comprehensive partnership and strategic interaction between China and Russia in the new era. There is tremendous potential of cooperation in the space industry and vast prospects are opening up. I am certain that the consolidation of efforts of such strong players in the space industry as China and Russia will be precisely the case in which ‘the whole is greater than the sum of the parts.’ It will benefit not just our two peoples, but the whole of humanity," Zhang said, when asked about progress in negotiations between Russia and China on coordination and mutual technical support for all deep space missions.
Zhang said Beijing attached great importance to space cooperation with Moscow.
"The two sides are pushing ahead with vast and fruitful cooperation in exploring the Moon and deep space, crewed space missions, satellite navigation, remote sensing of the Earth and the development and application of space technologies," he added.
Zhang stressed that both countries had achieved impressive results in the space sphere.
"Russia is a major space power possessing vast scientific-technological traditions and unique advantages and specifics," he said. "In recent years China achieved great successes in space: just recently the descent capsule of the crewed spacecraft Shenzhou made a successful landing. The mission was a complete success.".
