STAVROPOL, March 31. /TASS/. North-Caucasus Federal University, which is the largest university in the North Caucasus, plans to take part in Priority-2030 Academic Leadership Program. This should improve the quality of higher education, as well as make it more accessible, the university's press service told reporters on Wednesday.
"The draft resolutions of the Russian government on the implementation of the Priority-2030 program have been published. North-Caucasus Federal University is already bracing for the competition," the statement reads.
It is noted that the program is based on the principles of integration and cooperation of scientific and educational organizations. NCFU is already working in this direction. The focus is on networking and partnerships to improve the quality of higher education and make it more accessible.
"The mission of federal universities is to form human and intellectual capital capable of ensuring the competitive development of the federal district. For NCFU, the second Priority-2030 field (territorial and sectoral leadership) is fully consistent with the university's mission and long-term objectives of the second decade since the establishment of the university in the federal status", rector Dmitry Bespalov was quoted as saying.
It is noted that Priority-2030 program will become the biggest in the history of modern Russia in terms of state support for universities: at least 100 educational organizations will participate in it. Universities from all regions of Russia will be able to apply for support within the framework of the academic leadership program. The program includes two areas: research leadership (conducting breakthrough scientific research and creating science-intensive products and technologies, building human resources in the research and development sector), as well as territorial and / or sectoral leadership (socio-economic development of territories, strengthening human and scientific and technological potential organizations of the real sector of the economy and social sphere).
