BELGOROD, October 27. /TASS/. The biological educational and scientific complex of innovative solutions, opened at Belgorod State University will help to prepare specialists for the tasks of the Scientific and Educational Center dubbed "Innovative Solutions in Agricultural Industry", reported the press service of the largest university in the Belgorod region.
"The Biological educational and scientific complex of innovative solutions opened at the university will help prepare specialists for the tasks of the center dubbed "Innovative Solutions in Agricultural Industry" and the pharmaceutical industry. The new educational institution consists of five research laboratories - biochemistry and molecular biology, bioengineering, applied botany, biotechnology and bioinformatics, physiology. The complex will train specialists in the field of biotechnology, bioengineering, biopharmacy, biochemistry, as well as food technology," the statement reads.
It is noted that the complex has high-tech biological equipment.
"Thus, the laboratory of biochemistry and molecular biology will allow for the isolation and purification of total DNA, for the restriction and sequencing of its fragments. For these purposes, transiluminators, thermostats, centrifuges, gel documentation systems, electrophoresis chambers, and a DNA applicator have been purchased. All this will be used in scientific work and educational process. First of all, we are talking about the training of specialists under the program "Biotechpharma of the Future", developed at the Institute of Pharmacy, Chemistry and Biology of Belgorod Stats University", the statement reads.
"This year, more than 30 students enrolled for the program. Some already have their own design ideas, which they will develop in the learning process, in order to eventually obtain a patent. To do so, they will have assistance from our educational and research complex, which will become a platform for creating design bureaus, scientific and innovation projects, as well as start-ups," the press service quotes the director of the institute Irina Spichak.
The educational program "Biotechpharma of the Future" is implemented within the framework of the "Innovative Solutions in Agricultural Industry" and is a complex of training courses organized by Russian and foreign scientists. The program provides for practice-oriented training at the enterprises of the Belgorod region with the possibility of subsequent employment. The condition for the students to pass their final qualifying work is the availability of a patent for an idea developed during the education, as well as a commercial proposal. As a result, employers receive a specialist with the potential for business development.
Belgorod scientific project and "Science" National Project
"Innovative Solutions in Agricultural Industry" was created to implement the national project "Science". The center was founded under the auspices of the government of the Belgorod region by the leading universities in the region in partnership with big agricultural holdings. The center aims to boost the development of top-notch technologies in accordance with the priorities of the scientific and technological development of Russia and its transition to highly productive agriculture. The center has 35 employees, its economic and financial model is designed for the period from 2019 to 2024 and includes budgetary and extra-budgetary sources.
Plans to create a network of 15 world-class scientific centers are written in Vladimir Putin's May Decree and are one of the tasks of the Science national project. According to the goals of this national project, in 2024 Russia should become one of the five leading countries carrying out research in areas determined by the priorities of scientific and technological development.
