Russia to boost number of ground-based navigation stations
As of today, there are 19 ground-based navigation stations in Russia and six are operational abroad
MOSCOW, April 23. /TASS/. More than 45 receiving navigation stations will be operational in Russia after 2020, First Deputy CEO for the Development of the Orbital Grouping and Promising Projects at Russia’s State Space Corporation Roscosmos Yuri Urlichich said on Tuesday.
"Forty-five [stations] in the Russian Federation and 12 abroad," the Roscosmos official said in his presentation at the international navigation forum.
"They will cover the territory of the Russian Federation and the CIS states. The accuracy will increase from 1 meter to 0.5 meters," the presentation says.
All these ground-based navigation stations will make part of the system of differential adjustment and monitoring, which has undergone testing and is at the initial stage of its certification, the presentation says.
As of today, there are 19 ground-based navigation stations in Russia and six are operational abroad.
The 13th international navigation forum runs in Moscow on April 23-24. It will take place along with the Navitech-2019 exhibition in Russia that will feature satellite navigation systems.
