A mammoth’s skeleton has been discovered in Yakutia

TASS, August 13. Scientists of the Ammosov North-Eastern Federal University and their counterparts from Japan during an expedition in Yakutia found a mammoth’s skeleton with soft tissues and wool, the University reported on Monday.

"On August 12, in Yunyugen, the Verkhoyansk District, 220 km down the Yana River, the expedition found during the digging a mammoth’s incomplete skeleton with soft tissues and wool," the University said. "The digging continues."

This is the only available information at the moment, the University’s expert Alexei Petrov said. Further information will be published after the expedition is over.
