Progress MS-09 detaches from Soyuz 2.1a rocket, begins independent flight to ISS
This is the spacecraft’s first attempt of a fast-track orbital rendezvous with ISS
KOROLYOV, July 10. /TASS/. Progress-MS-09 cargo spacecraft detached from the third stage of Soyuz 2.1a rocket, and began independent flight to the International Space Station (ISS), the Russian Mission Control Center reported on Tuesday.
According to the Mission Control Center, the spacecraft has successfully detached from the third stage of the Soyuz rocket at 01:00 Moscow time.
It was reported earlier that Soyuz 2.1a rocket with Progress-MS-09 cargo spacecraft was launched for a fast-track orbital rendezvous with the International Space Station (ISS) from Baikonur Cosmodrome.
This is the spacecraft’s first attempt of a fast-track orbital rendezvous with ISS. Progress-MS-09 is expected to dock to the ISS on July 10 at 04:39 Moscow time.
The spacecraft will deliver around 2.5 tonnes of various cargo to the station, in particular, fuel, scientific equipment, products, medicines and other goods.
