BEIJING, September 2. /TASS/. The Russian-Chinese relations are developing intensively despite all external problems, Russian President Vladimir Putin told Premier of the Chinese State Council Li Keqiang on Wednesday.

"Of course, we will use this favorable occasion (the celebration of the 70th anniversary of the end of World War II) to talk about our bilateral relations, which, despite all external problems, are developing very intensively and benefit both the Chinese and Russian peoples," the Russian leader said.

For his part, Li Keqiang reiterated that "China and Russia are strategic partners." He also noted that the two countries jointly defended the results of World War II. "We are opposed to distorting and rewriting the results of World War II," he said. The Russian president also drew attention to this issue. According to him, it is important that Russia and China celebrate together the 70th anniversary of the Victory both on September 3 in Beijing and on May 9 in Moscow. "By doing so we demonstrate to both our peoples and the entire world that we have common assessment of the results of World War II and oppose the attempts to reject and distort history," Putin said.
