MAKS-2015 aerospace show hosts slightly over 400,000 visitors
The previous MAKS airshow that was held in 2013 hosted 340,000 visitors
ZHUKOVSKY, Moscow region, August 31. /TASS/. Public attendance of the International Aerospace Show MAKS-2015 that was held from Tuesday through to Sunday on the premises of the Mikhail Gromov Flight Research Institute near Moscow totaled slightly over 400,000 visitors, a spokesman for the directorate of the show told TASS.
"On Sunday, the last day of the show, as many as 93,000 visitors came to the airdrome in Zhukovsky," he said. "Thus the total public attendance came close to 405,000."
Although Sunday’s weather in Moscow region was marked by a rather cold wind and occasional brief showers, exhibition flights were performed in full.
The flight programme was opened by the Sukhoi Superjet. It was followed by Yakovlev-130, Beriyev-200, T-50, Sukhoi-34, Sukhoi-35S, MIG-35, and MIG-3.
The visitors enjoyed the presentations by the Strizhi [Swifts], Russkiye Vityazi [Russian Knights], Rus, Baltiyskiye Pcholy [Baltic Bees], and Pervy Polyot [First Flight] aerobatic groups.
The previous MAKS airshow that was held in 2013 hosted 340,000 visitors and MAKS-2011, about 440,000 visitors.
