Russian arms exporter sold weapons worth about $8 bln since start of year — CEO

Earlier, Isaikin said the total portfolio of Rosoboronexport’s orders stands at over $40 bln

ZHUKOVSKY /Moscow Region/, August 28. /TASS/. Russia’s state arms exporter Rosoboronexport has sold armaments and combat hardware worth about $8 billion on foreign markets since the start of the year, Rosoboronexport CEO Anatoly Isaikin said on Friday.

"About $8 billion," Isaikin said in reply to a TASS question.

Earlier, Isaikin said the total portfolio of Rosoboronexport’s orders stands at over $40 bln. The official noted that aircraft orders amount to over $18 bln.

Last year, Rosoboronexport exported armaments worth $13.2 billion. Russia’s hi-tech state corporation Rostec, which integrates Rosoboronexport, expects weaponry exports to stay at the level of about $13 billion in 2015.
