The crews of Sukhoi Su-24M2 (NATO reporting name: Fencer) bombers and Ilyushin Il-38 (NATO reporting name: May) anti-submarine warfare aircraft performed over ten sorties
MOSCOW, August 13. /TASS/. Bombers of Russia’s Eastern Military District and the crews of the Pacific Fleet’s anti-submarine aircraft have held military drills over the Sea of Okhotsk, Eastern Military District spokesman, Colonel Alexander Gordeyev said on Thursday.
During their flight shifts, the crews of Sukhoi Su-24M2 (NATO reporting name: Fencer) bombers and Ilyushin Il-38 (NATO reporting name: May) anti-submarine warfare aircraft "performed over ten sorties," the spokesman said.
The Su-24M2 frontline bombers performed flights to the maximum tactical radius of their operation while Il-38 planes practised search for a simulated enemy force’s submarines, the spokesman said.
