MOSCOW, July 22 /TASS/. Russian authorities have accused chief engineer Maxim Lyudomirsky of state treason.
"Today, Moscow’s Lefortovo court extended custody for Maxim Ludomirsky," the court’s press secretary, Yulia Skotnikova, told TASS on Wednesday.
Lyudomirsky, the chief engineer at a scientific-production association, was taken into custody in September 2014 on charges of state treason (article 275 of the Russian Penal Code).
Skotnikova said the trial had taken place behind the closed doors because the materials of Ludomirsky’s case were strictly confidential. She also refused to give any details.
At the same time, a TASS source close to law enforcers said that Lyudomirsky had been charged with passing on secret information to a foreign state.
