The airplanes were manufactured under state orders on the delivery of the combat aviation equipment to the Russian Air Force envisaged by the State Armament Program for 2011-2020
MOSCOW, July 16 /TASS/. A shipment of Su-34 frontline bombers was handed over to the Russian Air Force at the Novosibirsk aviation plant named after Chkalov (Chkalov plant), the Sukhoi design bureau’s subsidiary in Novosibirsk, on Thursday, the Sukhoi press service told TASS.
"A state contract with the Russian Defense Ministry for the delivery of Su-34 planes to the Russian Air Force up to 2020 will guarantee a stable workload for the Novosibirsk plant in the next few years and will outline prospects for long-term development," the company said.
The Su-34 plane has some unique specifications: its flight range has been increased to 4,000 kilometers; the maximum speed is up to 1,900 kilometres per hour and aircraft delivered ordnance is up to 8 tonnes. The plane is equipped with state of the art weapons and refueling in flight systems.
Batch of SU-35S aircraft transferred to Russian Air Force
The company has also transferred a batch of SU-35S aircraft.
The handover ceremony was held at the Gagarin Aviation Plant in Komsomolsk-on-Amur in the Russian Far East.
"The airplanes were manufactured under the state orders on the delivery of the combat aviation equipment to the Russian Air Force envisaged by the State Armament Program for 2011-2020. Their implementation will make it possible to deeply modernize the country’s armed forces and guarantee the Sukhoi company and its sub-contracting enterprises the workload for the long-term perspective," the press service said.
The Single Day of Armaments Acceptance was introduced in Russia in 2014. During the live video conference representatives of defense enterprises report to the leaders of the country and the Defense Ministry on the implementation of the State Defence Order. The aim of the Single Day of Armaments Acceptance is to ensure the quarterly monitoring of receipt of new equipment by the army, which allows to plan and coordinate work of the military equipment manufacturers and the Defense Ministry.
The SU-35S is a heavily upgraded supermanoeuverable multi-role generation 4++ jet fighter. The use of the fifth-generation technologies ensures its superiority over other jet fighters in its class. The plane has better flight characteristics compared to its counterparts and more advanced on-board equipment sets. It outperforms similar foreign aircraft by many of its specifications.
