Combat helicopters, fighter jets conduct drills in Crimea

MOSCOW, July 16. /TASS/. Planned exercises of tactical and army aviation have come to an end in Crimea, the press office of the Southern Military District told TASS on Thursday.

"The exercises involved army aviation’s strike helicopters Mi-28N, Ka-52 and Mi-35M, modernized Su-27 fighters and specialists of ground-based flight support services," the press office said.

The helicopter crews practised tasks at the Opuk range to detect and identify various ground targets, helicopters and low-altitude, low-speed aircraft and destroyed a simulated enemy’s forces with missile and gun armaments, the press office of Russia’s Southern Military District said.

Along with aviation drills, an air defense missile regiment held exercises involving the regiment’s march to a designated area and the repulsion of an imaginary enemy’s attack, the press office said.
