The Islamic State creates cells in different regions in the world and openly states that it intends to destabilize the situation in CIS and Central Asia, Federal Security Service head says

MOSCOW, June 17. /TASS/. The Islamic State (IS) terrorist organization openly states it wants to destabilize the situation in the CIS (Commonwealth of Independent States), Russian Federal Security Service Director Alexander Bortnikov said on Wednesday.

"I would like to draw attention to the process of activating and expanding the influence zone of international terrorism. The Islamic States is currently at its core, it creates cells in different regions in the world and openly states that it intends to destabilize the situation in CIS and Central Asia," Bortnikov told the solemn meeting devoted to the 15th anniversary of establishing the CIS Anti-Terrorism Center.
