Russian government allocates about $1.7 million for people who lost property in wildfires

The wildfires impacted more than 800 people in 18 populated localities

MOSCOW, April 30. /TASS/. The Russian government has allocated 90.296 million rubles (1.7 million US dollars) from its reserve fund to the government of Russia’s TransBaikal Territory to provide humanitarian assistance to people who lost their properties in the recent wildfires, according to a government resolution posted on the cabinet’s website on Thursday.

The wildfires impacted more than 800 people in 18 populated localities. A total of 203 residential houses and 284 summer cottages were destroyed by fire.

According to the resolution, 75 million roubles (1.4 million US dollars) will go to provide financial assistance to people who lost all their properties. A sum of 8.130 million (157,470 US dollars) will go to provide one-time allowances, and 3.150 million roubles (61,000 US dollars) will be paid to those who partially lost their properties.
