Chechen leader Kadyrov ready to give evidence in Nemtsov murder case
Kadyrov said that he wanted to know what questions Nemtsov's lawyers would like to ask him
MOSCOW, April 30. /TASS/. Chechen leader Ramzan Kadyrov said on Thursday he is ready to give evidence in the murder case of Russian opposition politician Boris Nemtsov if it helps the investigation.
"I can give evidence with pleasure, especially since that's what [Nemtsov's] children demand," Kadyrov said in an interview with Govorit Moskva radio station
"If they prove that Zaur Dadayev is the killer, he should serve a prison term given by the court," he said.
Kadyrov said that he wanted to know what questions Nemtsov's lawyers would like to ask him.
Nemtsov was shot dead in downtown Moscow late on February 27.
On March 8, 2015, the Basmanny Court arrested five defendants in the case: Zaur Dadayev, Anzor and Shadid Gubashev, Khamzat Bakhayev and Tamerlan Eskerkhanov. According to investigators, Dadayev was the killer of the politician, and the others were his accomplices. None of them have admitted their guilt.
