Kremlin chief of staff Sergey Ivanov said he personally is not an opponent of twerking
STRELNA, April 27. /TASS/. Kremlin chief of staff Sergey Ivanov said on Monday that performing a provocative twerk dance by a group of students next to a World War II memorial in southern Russia is wrong and unethical.
"I am not an opponent of twerking as I often see this dance performed at basketball matches, which I am fond of," Ivanov said. "But in this case the choice of the place was wrong and unethical."
Prosecutors in the Krasnodar Territory launched probe after a YouTube video showing girls twerking in front of the Malaya Zemlya monument in the city of Novorossiysk sparked public outrage.
The dancers were accused of hooliganism and the scandalous video was deleted.
