Average social pensions in Russia raised to $144

A 5.5% indexation of social payments is planned for federal benefit holders in Russia starting Wednesday

MOSCOW, April 1. /TASS/. Pensions for around 3.7 million retirees in Russia will be indexed by 10.3% starting Wednesday, the press service of the country’s Ministry of Labour has said.

The average social pensions in Russia will grow to $144, social pensions for handicapped children to $214, and for military service-disabled people and war participants, who receive two pensions, to $509 and $546, respectively.

In Russia, there are more than 3 million and 16 million recipients of social pensions and social benefits, respectively.

A 5.5% indexation of social payments is planned for federal benefit holders: veterans, disabled persons, as well as people exposed to radiation, Heroes of Soviet Union, Heroes of Socialist Labour and other categories.
