MOSCOW, March 30. /TASS/. The Russian law envisages that no pilot may stay in a cockpit alone, the press service of the Russian Transport Ministry told TASS.

The Russian Air Code stipulates that "if an air crew consists of two pilots only then in that case if any of the two pilots leaves the cockpit someone else from the plane crew shall be present in the cockpit without taking the seat of the temporarily absent plot," it said. The required norm is specified in clause 3.10 (Preparation and performance of flights by the Russian civil aviation) of the Federal Aviation Rules, the source explained.

The Russian Transport Ministry commented on the recent air disaster which took place on March 24. A passenger plane owned by the Germanwings company crashed in the south of France when the plane performed a regular flight from Barcelona to Dusseldorf. French Prosecutor Brice Robin said that the information obtained from the plane’s flight recorder indicates that the air disaster of the Aerobus 320 was a result of intentional acts undertaken by second pilot, German citizen Andreas Lubitz. The investigation claims the second pilot deliberately locked himself in the cockpit so as not to let the chief pilot get back into the cockpit, and directed the plane downwards until the plane crashed into a mountain in the French Alps .
