MOSCOW, March 25. /TASS/. Moscow’s authorities maintain order at the bridge where Russian opposition politician Boris Nemtsov was murdered in late February, the head of the city’s department of regional security, Alexey Mayorov, said on Wednesday.

"The utility services ensure order at the murder scene of Boris Nemtsov where citizens lay flowers. They take away the faded flowers, the pieces of paper and garbage. They ensure the passage of citizens as the bridge is a high risk area," Mayorov said.

The Nemtsov murder scene has no special status on the city map, he added.

The photos posted in social networks showed that the "Nemtsov Bridge" sign plate was destroyed and the portraits of the politician were damaged with offensive writings.

Meanwhile, the Antimaidan movement has rejected the claims of its possible role in the incident.

Boris Nemtsov, 55, a lawmaker of the Yaroslavl legislature, was shot dead in downtown Moscow, just a stone’s throw from the Kremlin, late on February 27. Five people have been detained as part of the investigation into the criminal case.

On March 8, Moscow’s Basmanny court authorized their arrest. The criminal proceedings have been initiated on charges of murder committed by a group of persons on previous concert for self-interested aims or on contract; as well as illegal acquisition and storage of weapons. If convicted, the suspects may face up to 20 years in jail or even life sentence.
