Two Russian universities ranked among world’s 100 best universities
The Lomonosov Moscow State University was ranked 25th position
LONDON, March 12. /TASS/. Two Russian Universities — the Lomonosov Moscow State University and the St. Petersburg State University — have been rated among the world’s top 100 universities in the World Reputation Rankings for 2015.
On Wednesday, The Times Higher Education (THE), a London-based weekly magazine specializing in news and issues related to higher education, issued its regular ranking of the top 100 most powerful global university brands. The Lomonosov Moscow State University was ranked 25th, the highest ever position it has ever been awarded in such rankings issued annually since 2011. The university has made a giddy progress ascending to its present position from its last year’s ranking among universities sharing positions from 51 to 60.
The St. Petersburg State University, a newcomer in the ranking, was placed in a group of universities sharing positions from 71 to 80.
The reputation league table is based not on subjective judgement, but on expert judgement of senior, published academics.
The THE editor, Phil Baty, told TASS these were inspiring results for Russia.
