SIMFEROPOL, March 11. /TASS/. Crimea’s head Sergey Aksyonov will cut his salary not by 10%, but by half, Aksyonov told a briefing on Wednesday.
"I have personally made a decision on cutting my own salary," he said. "I can afford cutting my salary by half. The draft decree is being prepared, it will be published this week," he added.
However, other Crimean officials "need additional financial support" as their salaries are "not high," Aksyonov stressed. "I support increasing people’s salaries. However, before that, you need to earn reputation and prove that today, the authorities can efficiently perform their tasks," he noted.
The press service of Crimea’s head could not specify Sergey Aksyonov’s salary. Official did not file income declaration in 2014 because of the transitional period in the republic after its accession to the Russian Federation last March.
