MOSCOW, March 5. /TASS/. Ukraine’s former pilot Nadezhda Savchenko, who is being held in Russia on charges of complicity to murder of Russian journalists in eastern Ukraine last year, has agreed to have some chicken soupwhile being on a hunger strike that has lasted for more than 80 days, the Russian federal prison authority said on Thursday.

"Today Nadezhda Savchenko agreed to comply with the recommendations of doctors on supporting her health state and agreed to have chicken soup," the Federal Penitentiary Service (FSIN) said.

Savchenko remains under the watchful care of doctors and continues receiving the supporting therapy. The Ukrainian defendant went on hunger strike in mid-December.
