Russia to consider financial aid to Greece in case Athens requests it — FM Lavrov
Russia also has an uneasy situation due to unilateral and illegitimate policy of its Western colleagues, but it is ready to consider aid to Greece if requested, foreign minister Sergey Lavrov says
MOSCOW, February 11. /TASS/. Russia will consider an issue of financial assistance for Greece if Athens asks Moscow about it, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said on Wednesday.
"As for the economic issues, we have discussed today the financial situation in Greece," Lavrov told a news conference after talks with Greek Foreign Minister Nikos Kotzias.
"We [Russia] have also an uneasy situation due to unilateral and illegitimate policy of our Western colleagues. But if a request from the Greek government comes, we will definitely consider such issue."
Russia and Greece are interested in developing military and technical cooperation, Lavrov went on to say.
"Russia and Greece can give a new impetus to the development of military and technical cooperation," the foreign minister said. "We are preparing new agreements in this sphere," he added.
