MOSCOW, February 10. /TASS/. Sanctions against Russia and plans for weapons supplies to Kiev would merely increase destabilization in Ukraine, Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov has told a Moscow-based radio station in an interview.

"Russia is a country that is genuinely interested in settling the crisis; all other plans for stepping up sanctions and isolation, for weapons supplies to Ukraine and so on are regrettably aimed at destabilizing the situation in Ukraine," he said.

"Russia has been exerting great efforts in order to help Ukraine settle this terrible crisis. This is what Russia will be doing further on," Peskov said.
