ST.PETERSBURG, January 27. /TASS/. The international payment operator MasterCard is ready to resume its operations in Crimea and Sevastopol after Western sanctions against Crimea are lifted, the company’s representative said answering the reporters questions on Tuesday.
The speaker added that the company plans to develop in the country despite the current situation.
In December 2014, Visa payment system notified Russian banks that it had to suspend operations with payment cards in Crimea following the US sanctions imposed on the Black Sea peninsula. After that MasterCard made a statement to the issue. Thus, both international payment systems terminated services to Crimean banks following the US sanctions against the region.
