Russian multimedia group Sputnik launches Web site in Chinese

The website will publish information on the most important events in Russia and opinions of leading Russian and Chinese scientists and experts

MOSCOW, December 25. /TASS/. Russian multimedia group Sputnik has launched on Thursday a Web site sputniknews.cn in Chinese, and it will produce the content for the site and an online radio in its Moscow and Beijing-based offices.

The new Web site of Sputnik is the main source of alternative and immediate information for Chinese-speaking audience. This multimedia platform can become not only a news source, but also a framework for cooperation between businesses of the two countries, according to Sputnik's statement.

“China has a huge interest in Russia-centered topics, in reliable and immediate information…Experts, officials, the business community, mass media, ordinary people - they are all interested in on-going events in Russia, in the Russian point of view on world’s events and in the economic situation in the country. Russia and China are neighbors, partners who need the latest reliable information about each other,” Alexey Yefimov, head of the Sputnik multimedia hub, said.

The website will publish information on the most important events in Russia, representing Moscow's view on the situation in the world, and opinions of leading Russian and Chinese scientists and experts.
