Most Russians name Putin Politician of the Year — pollster

MOSCOW, December 24. /TASS/. Over 70% of Russians named President Vladimir Putin the 2014 Politician of the Year for the 11th time in a row, the head of the state-run All-Russia Public Opinion Center (WCIOM) said on Wednesday.
"Russian President Vladimir Putin is leading by a landslide as in the previous years," Konstantin Abramov said.
Putin is followed by Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, who secured 8% of the public vote, and Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev (5%), Abramov said.
The poll was conducted among 1,600 people in 46 Russian regions. The margin of error was about 3.5%
In 2013, 44% of the respondents said Putin was the Politician of the Year.
