Up to 880,000 Ukrainian citizens remain in Russia — Emergencies Ministry

MOSCOW, December 23. /TASS/. Up to 880,000 Ukrainian nationals are currently staying in Russia, Vladimir Artamonov, Russian Deputy Emergencies Minister, said on Tuesday.
“Over 6.3 million of Ukrainian citizens entered the territory of Russia since January 1, 2014, while some 5.5 million departed and 878,000 remain in Russia,” Artamonov said.
According to him, there are currently six air corridors used by the Emergencies Ministry’s aircraft for transportation of Ukrainian refugees from the Southern and Crimean Federal Districts of Russia.
In all, according to Artamonov, the Emergencies Ministry transported over 10,000 people by air, 11,000 by roads and over 39,000 by railways.
“As for today, there are 769 temporary asylums remain active (across Russia), accommodating over 35,000 people, who include 11,000 children,” he added.
